Mountain Bike Tours

We started running global mountain bike tours in 1994. Starting with  Colorado and Moab, Utah and then moving on to Switzerland, Morocco, and other exotic locales we have always pushed the envelope in finding the best new places to ride our mountainbikes. .... We settled in Ollantaytambo, Peru !  The mountains, the people, the culture, the Incan sites .... we believe the riding here to be the best in the world and that is why we are here.

We have been operating mountain bike tours in Ollantaytambo and the Sacred Valley of Peru since 2001.  We pioneered many of the routes now being sold by what seems like every agency on every corner. The difference is, we are mountain bikers first. We know the trails around Ollantaytambo better than anyone - because we live here.

We specialize in small, unique tours. We use qualified international guides who know the area and, more importantly, respect it. Our bikes are top notch - all full suspension, with hydraulic disc brakes and full protective equipment - gloves, helmets, pads, etc.

Email me (KB) directly:  kbperu@hotmail.com  and I will personally get back to you with some custom ideas based on who you are and what you are looking for !

Abra Malaga -
"Downhill Fantasy"

Leave our hotel in Ollantaytambo in a private taxi and ascend a long paved road one hour to the pass of Abra Malaga - at 4316 meters it tops out at over 14,000 feet above sea level! The scenery is breathtaking, and there are various Incan ruins along the way. Then, hop on a full suspension mountain bike with hydraulic disc brakes and cruise 5,000 feet downhill back to KB Tambo ! This is our signature tour and everyone always loves it.

There is also an "experts-only" option to this ride, if you have significant off-road mountainbike experience we can take you on a world-class Downhill course complete with drops, berms, jumps, and rock gardens, plus extensive stretches of high speed singletrack and part of an Inca Trail to top it off !

As featured on CNN.com, the New York Times, and BIKE magazine !

Salt Mines (Salineras) and Moray -
"Singletrack Mania"

This ride visits two of the most unique and interesting sites in the Sacred Valley. We drive first to Moray with the bikes on top of the van, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way including views of the Chicon glacier above Urubamba. After visiting the fascinating site of Moray, we ride 8 km or so on a mostly flat double track trail to the town of Maras where we will then descend on a slightly more technical trail down to the site of the Salt Mines. After seeing them closeup and in detail, we drop the rest of the way down to the Urubamba river where our van awaits to take us back to Ollantaytambo.
