Tips for guides and drivers
Your Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive to Lisbon airport, where our private vehicle, driver, and English speaking guide will all be waiting for you! We’ll bring you to your hotel and then have time to cruise around the city a bit and orient ourselves. No reason not to dive right into some tasty local food so we’ll do just that – and from a local’s perspective: not the usual TripAdvisor or Lonely Planet. Happy hour and optional group dinner with your guide tonight at another great local spot.

Day 2
After breakfast, we will head straight into nature exploring/sightseeing by hiking up to the UNESCO Moorish Castle located in historic Sintra. Sintra is a reported retreat of the famed Diana the Huntress and still shrouded in a bit of natural mystique. Like a Portuguese Fairy Tale city/region with enchanted forests, castles, palaces, and exotic gardens we will feel that special energy while overlooking the majestic views at the Castle, building our appetite for local delicatessens for after the hike. The afternoon activity option will be the hike to Pedra Amarela (if not hiked the day before) or the option of visiting the famous Initiation Well at the Quinta da Regaleira estate, another experience you won’t want to miss while in Sintra.

Day 3
After breakfast, we will make our way to Cabo de Roca, the very most Western point of Europe, and a famous spot for epic photographs. Cabo de Roca will be the start of the 6-mile coastal hike to a raw beach called Praia da Ursa. Praia da Ursa is a secluded beach accessed by a steep trail, offering golden shores & an outcropping of large rocks. Moving and grooving through this adventure, we will hike back up to Cabo de Roca preparing for an afternoon mega seafood/meat lunch.

Day 4
After breakfast, and checking out of your Sintra Chalet, we will head toward Cascais, Portugal’s famous coastal fishing town, for a cycling adventure on the coast. Cascais is classy and charming and known as the Portuguese Riviera. First stop, we’ll visit the “Boca do Inferno” (Hell’s Mouth) which is a collapsed cave and series of highly weathered cliffs. On this 12 miles bike ride, we will stop along the many points worth photographing, ending at Guincho Beach, a stunning backdrop with dramatic scenery of the Serra de Sintra. When arriving back to Cascais, we will eat at one of the many alfresco restaurants/bars as Cascais has a delightful center that charms locals and tourists alike as the traditional fishermen’s houses have been converted into chic shops and restaurants. It’s a great place to wander and absorb the Portuguese atmosphere. After exploring Cascais, we will make our way to check into the Lisbon Hotel.

Day 5
After breakfast, we will get ready for our tour along Lisbon’s riverside by bicycle.! Starting at the cosmopolitan city center you’ll be able to see the buzz of this beautiful European capital and the levels of tranquility will increase as you advance towards Belém. All the way to Belém is done along the riverside which means you may expect an extremely pleasant journey full of light, a beautiful landscape and a vibrant city life. Whoever is interested in history and knows about the importance of the Portuguese Discoveries will love this neighborhood. Here everything is magnanimous, historical and sacred. It was from here that many of the great Portuguese Explorers embarked on their dangerous and ambitious voyages transforming Portugal into the first global empire. This is one of the most pleasant tours that can be taken in Lisbon, the perfect combination between tranquility, harmony and landscape contemplation mixed with the busy riverfront esplanades, long green grass fields crowded with musicians, joggers and artists enjoying Lisbon’s essence!

Day 6
After breakfast, we’ll be headed to the Beach! We’ll first make our way across the famous April 25th Red bridge which is the cousin of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. We will visit the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue, seeing the beautiful city of Lisbon from a different angle, an angle most tourists never see. Arriving at Costa da Caparica, which is a stunning 26 km coastline of glorious sandy beaches, powerful Atlantic waves, and natural scenery, we’ll prepare for our surf lesson. After an exhilarating beach day we’ll make our way back to Lisbon to freshen up and prepare for a night of everything Lisbon has to offer.
It is also a mecca for great European waves so a surf lesson option is available.

Day 7
After breakfast check out of Lisbon Hotel to head toward Airport or any last minutes sightseeing (depending on the flight departure time).
